Cayman Islands info -Ship’s Cook Certificate and Food Hygiene
I just heard from CI regarding latest requirements for ships cook certificate and food hygiene. I had a query forma yacht captain on a Cayman flaged vessel and then realised the Cayman Islands website had changed.. so..
I have updated the info page here under ‘cayman’ search but if you go to
http://www.cishipping.com/policy-advice/shipping-notices
The Shipping Notice should be at the bottom of the page. If not put “food” in the title search.
This will bring up a pdf and if you scroll down it you will get all requirements on SCC and FH there.

I hold an associates degree in Culinary from an American University. I studied for nearly four years but was short of 2 courses to complete my bachelors degree. Both times I graduate with honors my question is does my degree qualify to use to apply for ships cook Certificate with out having to take the class in Antibes? Many thanks and have a wonderful day.

Hi Emily, you need to contact Cayman Islands Registry and ask them if you are working on a Cayman flagged vessel.
To see whether the MCA accept your degree contact the MCA directly but am guessing they wont accept it.
