Cayman Islands flagged commercial vessels- what are my annual leave rights?

I had a chef ask me what his rights are on a private flagged yacht as he was only getting 28 days so I contacted the Cayman Islands Technical team to get the official word on this..

As he is on a private yacht he isnt under the rules a commercial registered yacht is under. So its whatever they offered him in his contract and what he was happy to accept. A shame that they don’t at least give him the 2.5 days a month which is the base for commercial yachts under UK flags.

So if you get a SEA contract check your leave entitlement and if it is a commercial Cayman flagged vessel take note of this as its 38 days paid leave.
